46 year old Richard Dixon joined LEMKEN UK Ltd in 2001, as Sales Support Manager to cover the North of England, Scotland and Ireland.

As the company has grown, and the workload become greater, Scotland has benefited from an Area Service Manager of it's own, and Richard has concentrated his efforts on the North of England and Ireland.

Cycling is completely new to him, but his fiercely competitive nature will doubtless mean that he could well be underestimated in the cycling challenge.

 Richard regards himself as fairly fit; summers are spent shearing sheep, and training others to shear for the British Wool Marketing Board.

Other exercise is by way of long walks with his dog, Tara, as well as swimming in excess of a mile at a time!

Richard's stamina, born out of many seasons shearing thousands of sheep, will almost certainly mean that the LEMKEN CHALLENGE will be completed and possibly even enjoyed!!

Richard lives in rural East Yorkshire with wife Julie and Jack Russell, Tara.

Richard would like to thank Pete Read of Team Swift for all his help in assessing and training during the short period from early February to mid April.

It seemed an impossible task to turn a non-cyclist of 30 years into someone fit enough to ride the 700 miles involved, but with Pete's help, the fitness level has improved many fold. So much so, that Richard has been offered a chance to join Pete's Team Swift -the UK's most successful cycling team! Thankyou Pete.
